Alice Walker

DIRECTOR & LEAD SPEECH PATHOLOGIST (*Alice’s books are currently closed)

Alice Walker is a vibrant and bubbly speech pathologist and founder of Embrace. She’s not afraid to share a laugh with her clients, creating a comfortable and engaging environment for therapy. As a neurodivergent individual with ADHD, Alice brings a unique and deeply empathetic perspective to her work, understanding firsthand the challenges and triumphs her clients may face.

Alice brings extensive training and expertise across a broad range of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Therapy

  • Hanen Certified Practitioner – empowering parents to support communication development through everyday interactions

  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), with advanced training in:

    • Two Way Street’s AAC Upskilling Program

    • PODD (Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display)

  • Lidcombe Program – consortium-trained in early intervention for childhood stuttering

  • Key Word Sign – supporting communication through signs and gestures

  • Sounds-Write Literacy Program – building strong foundational skills in reading and spelling

  • Meaningful Speech (Natural Language Acquisition) – tailored support for gestalt language processors

  • What’s the Buzz? – certified facilitator of this structured social-emotional learning program

Izzy (Isabella) Luke

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Meet Izzy, our gentle and warm Speech Pathologist who dedicates her time to helping clients from Monday to Thursday. Beyond her professional life, she has a passion for art and enjoys spending her free time painting. Weekends are reserved for family and friends, where she actively engages with kids of all ages, assists at Sunday school, and cherishes moments with her adorable little cousins. Speech Pathology, for Izzy, is the perfect career choice.

Izzy works one-on-one with clients, supporting them in achieving their therapy goals. She excels at working with a variety of clients, especially children who may be feeling nervous or apprehensive. Izzy thrives on personalizing each child's experience, forging wonderful connections with their families.

Izzy is a Hanen Certified Practitioner (supporting parents to build communication skills in everyday interactions). Izzy has also completed additional training in:

  • AAC through Two Way Street's Upskilling program

  • Evidence-Based Speech Therapy for Phonological Disorders – including “Which Phonological Intervention Should I Choose?” by Rebecca Reinking

Haylee Arnott

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

We are thrilled to have Haylee on board in the clinic on Tuesdays and Fridays. As a senior speech pathologist, Haylee brings a wealth of experience, working with children from their early years up to their teenage years.

Haylee’s warm and calm approach to therapy ensures her clients always feel incredibly comfortable. She loves building strong relationships with her clients and their families using a holistic approach.

Haylee has completed multiple professional developments, including:

  • Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Therapy

  • Sounds-Write literacy training

  • Meaningful Speech (Natural Language Acquisition for Gestalt Language Processors)

  • Sounds-Write Literacy Program (for developing strong foundational literacy skills)

Josie (Josephine)Wilson

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Originally from rural NSW, Josie brings warmth, a smile, and a flexible approach to her role as a speech pathologist. Starting her journey with Embrace as an Allied Health Assistant, Josie has seamlessly transitioned into a full-time role, earning praise for her ability to make clients feel instantly at ease.

With a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and hands-on experience gained during her studies, Josie is skilled at adapting her sessions to suit client needs—whether on the floor, at the table, or in the playroom. She is also trained in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), including Two Way Street's Upskilling in AAC.

She has completed additional training in: Evidence-Based Speech Therapy for Phonological Disorders – including “Which Phonological Intervention Should I Choose?” by Rebecca Reinking

Kayla Michos

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Kayla began her journey at Embrace Speech Pathology as an Allied Health Assistant, gaining valuable experience before transitioning into her current role as a speech pathologist. With a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, she has worked across office and school settings throughout her studies, developing a strong foundation in the field.

Kayla has a particular interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) implementation and Gestalt Language Processing, and she has completed training in AAC through Two Way Street's Upskilling program.

She has completed additional training in: Evidence-Based Speech Therapy for Phonological Disorders – including “Which Phonological Intervention Should I Choose?” by Rebecca Reinking

Known for her calm demeanor and ability to stay composed under pressure, Kayla brings consistency and stability to her sessions, ensuring a reliable and supportive environment for her clients. Her maturity and professionalism are truly beyond her years, making her a valued member of the team.

Annie Eats

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Annie is a warm, dedicated speech pathologist who brings over five years of experience working within paediatric speech pathology settings. She began her journey as an Allied Health Assistant before becoming a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, and now has multiple years of experience supporting children and families across a broad range of developmental needs.

Annie has worked in both individual and group formats across a wide scope of practice areas—including speech, language, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), literacy, early communication, and social skills. She provides therapy in-clinic, in homes, community settings, schools, and via telehealth, always tailoring her approach to fit the unique needs and goals of each child and family.

Alongside her clinical work, Annie has taken on leadership roles in mentoring and supervising early-career therapists, speech pathology students, and allied health assistants. She is passionate about helping others grow and has a calm, steady presence that brings reassurance and clarity to her team and clients alike.

Annie’s additional training includes:

Kristy Allison

ALLIED HEALTH ASISSTANT (AHA)

Kristy is a dedicated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant currently completing her final year of a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University. She brings a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and hands-on experience in working with children, families, and individuals with diverse communication needs.

Kristy has supported clients across a range of settings including schools, clinics, and community environments. Her experience through university placements has helped her develop skills in early language and literacy, AAC, and tailored intervention for children with disability. She’s passionate about delivering therapy that is playful, purposeful, and child-led.

In addition to her clinical experience, Kristy brings strong leadership, rapport-building, and behaviour support skills. She’s known for her warm and engaging style, her commitment to growth, and her ability to create safe, supportive spaces where children can thrive.

Kristy is thrilled to be part of the Embrace team and looks forward to supporting children’s communication development while learning from experienced clinicians and building her future as a speech pathologist.

AHA Therapy Sessions

Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in receiving allied health assistance. AHA therapy is suitable for children who would like an extra session, on a current waitlist for Speech Pathology or after therapy support ASAP.

Embrace has openings with our AHAs for Term 4 on a Monday (days subject to change dependent on AHA final placements!)
